nutribullet Product Care & Troubleshooting

We recommend washing the blade by hand with warm soapy water immediately after use. You can use a brush to reach hard to reach areas. The cups and accessories are top shelf dishwasher safe. The motor base should be unplugged and wiped clean with a warm soapy cloth. We do not recommend washing the blade or motor base in the dishwasher.

Adding more liquid will help. For the best consistency, we recommend adding ingredients in this order: (1) greens (2) fruits (3) powders, seeds, nut butters (4) liquids (5) ice

Blending creates pressure inside the cup to break down ingredients. Make sure not to fill past the max line. The longer your blend cycle is on, the longer pressure builds inside the cup. An alternative is blending multiple times in shorter cycles.

Hot ingredients like coffee or carbonated ingredients like soda should never be blended in the nutribullet (with the exception of the nutribullet Blender and the nutribullet Blender Combo ). The ingredients can build up pressure and cause damage to the components and even cause injury.

Each nutribullet has its own blade and cup that is designed to specifically for each model. Using the wrong parts and accessories can lead to increased wear and tear. See compatible accessories here.

No, the nutribullet cups are not microwave or freezer safe. We do not recommend freezing the cups as this can make the cups brittle and they could crack.

We recommend replacing your extractor blade every 6 months (depending on use) or as needed for optimal performance.

The gasket is not designed to be removed and therefore are not replaceable. The gaskets are deep-seated, and factory sealed in the blade housing. The sealed gasket helps with cleaning and keeps food particles on the surface. We recommend replacing the entire blade after 6 months or as needed for optimal performance. If a gasket becomes worn, torn or loose, it may also be time to get a new blade.

Warranty

Registering your warranty helps us determine if your unit is authentic and assist with warranty service. Please note that we will still require your serial number and model number for verification, as well as your proof of purchase if you haven't already submitted it.

You will need your warranty registration card or the 15 digit serial number located on the sticker beneath the motor base (between the feet) as well as your proof of purchase, showing purchase date, item purchased and seller name.

The serial number is on a white sticker, under the barcode under the power base. It is also on the warranty card that came with your product.

The serial number will have a series of numbers and may include 1 or 2 letters. Please be sure not to confuse the letter I for the number 1 or the letter S for the number 5. If this is not the case, please contact our customer service for further assistance.

The friction from the blades during blending can generate internal pressure inside the cup. Always blend in one-minute cycles, and make sure not to fill past the max line. Never continuously operate with a sealed cup for longer than one-minute. The longer your blend cycle is on, the longer pressure builds inside the cup. If your blending cup becomes warm to the touch, allow the cup to cool completely before carefully opening.

Hot ingredients like coffee or carbonated ingredients like soda should never be blended in the nutribullet (with the exception of the vented pitchers of the nutribullet Blender and the nutribullet Blender Combo). The ingredients can build up pressure and cause damage to the components and even cause injury.

magic bullet Kitchen Express™

If your magic bullet Kitchen Express™ is not turning on, it is likely that it is either assembled improperly, or that it has overheated. If using the work bowl, make sure the lid is properly attached and locked in place by matching the lid lock icon to the silver arrow on the work bowl handle. Once the lid is secured, set the bowl on the power base and gently twist clockwise to lock into place. If using the cup, make sure the blade is securely fastened to the cup before locking the blade into the power base using the same gentle clockwise twist.

If your magic bullet Kitchen Express™ is not turning on after a period of heavy use, it’s likely that it has overheated. Your machine is programmed to temporarily shut down as a protective measure when it senses overuse. If/when this occurs, unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before plugging back in and attempting to use again.

No, the magic bullet® cross blade and cups are not compatible with the magic bullet Kitchen Express™. Do not attempt to use the cup and blade assembly from another magic bullet with the magic bullet Kitchen Express. Use only the cups and blades included with your magic bullet Kitchen Express unit.

The magic bullet Kitchen Express™ runs on a 250-watt motor.

Pulse allows you to have more control when blending or chopping ingredients. Unlike the standard “On” mode, which runs the motor continuously, the “Pulse” feature only powers the motor when the knob is twisted and held in the Pulse setting, and automatically stops as soon as the knob is released. This allows you to process your mixture in short bursts, which is helpful for certain recipes.

The magic bullet Kitchen Express™ work bowl and work bowl lid are made from super durable, SAN (styrene acrylonitrile resin) plastic. The magic bullet Kitchen Express™ cups are made from super durable, Eastman Chemical Tritan™ copolyester.

The magic bullet Kitchen Express™ cross blade, chopping blade, and blade discs are all made from stainless steel.

All components are top-rack dishwasher-safe, except for the motor base, which should be carefully wiped down by hand. Never submerge the motor base in water.

No. Never use the magic bullet Kitchen Express™ cups to blend hot ingredients. Hot ingredients release steam when blended, causing pressure to build in the sealed cup. Too much pressure will cause the cup/blade assembly to erupt upon opening, sending hot ingredients through the air (and all over your kitchen) and may cause thermal injuries.

No. Never use the magic bullet Kitchen Express™ cups to blend carbonated ingredients. Carbonated ingredients release gas when blended, causing pressure to build in the sealed cup. Too much pressure from carbonation may cause the cup/blade assembly to separate, spraying, ingredients through the air (and all over your kitchen).

You can chop vegetables, fruits, nuts, raw meat, and more in the work bowl. Just make sure you have removed any rind, seeds, or pits from fruit and bones from meat prior to adding to the bowl.

You can use many different kinds of fruits, vegetables and hard cheeses with the blade discs. The discs are ideal for slicing or shredding fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, baby potatoes, zucchini, apples and more. Make sure that ingredients are cut so they fit easily into the feed chute so that food does not get lodged or stuck while processing. If food does become lodged in the feed chute, always use the food pusher provided, or another piece of fruit or vegetable to push it down. Never insert your fingers or use any kitchen utensil to push food into the feed chute.

Yes, you can use frozen ingredients with the magic bullet Kitchen Express™, however your magic bullet Kitchen Express™ is not intended to be an ice crusher. Attempting to crush ice may cause permanent damage to the blades.

No, the work bowl and cups are neither microwave nor freezer-safe.

We recommend replacing blades every 6 months, depending on use.

A smoothie is a blended beverage made with solid and liquid ingredients: fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, water, milk, or plant-based beverages, etc. Smoothies are blended using a nutribullet® or traditional blender, and the finished product retains all of the material--skins, pulp, and fiber--of their whole food ingredients. A nutrient-rich smoothie may serve as a meal replacement or snack, and can help to boost your fiber intake for the day.

Juice is made by extracting nutrient-rich liquid from whole fruits and vegetables. Juicers separate the solid components of fresh produce--pulp, skin, fiber, etc--from their liquid content, which is then filtered through a spout and into a glass or pitcher for drinking. While juices do not contain fiber, they do provide concentrated amounts of plant-based nutrients. They’re great for a quick pick-me-up, and can help to add an extra boost of fruit and veggie goodness to your day.

A combination of fresh juices and smoothies can be great additions to a healthy, active lifestyle.

The nutribullet Juicer™ and the nutribullet Juicer Pro™’s pulp basin, basin cover, and juice pitcher are made from durable, FDA approved, SAN (styrene acrylonitrile resin) plastic.

The sieve can withstand moderate to heavy usage. Over time, if you start to notice that the sieve is looking dull, or is not working as efficiently as before, then it is likely due for a replacement. Always use genuine nutribullet® replacement parts. After-market parts are not manufactured to nutribullet’s specifications and may result in the unit’s malfunction.

Yes, juice can be stored in the juice pitcher and refrigerated for up to 48 hours.

Most juices will stay fresh for up to 48 hours if refrigerated in the glass storage bottles.

The freezer trays are helpful for preparing juices and juice shots in advance, and for preserving leftover juice beyond its standard 48-hour limit. They’re also great for freezing pulp leftover from the juicing process, which can be defrosted and added to a wide array of recipes for a boost of fiber. The freezer trays feature 2-oz and 4-oz compartments so you can keep track of serving or portion sizes. Our recipe guide includes some great tips and suggestions for how to make the most of your freezer trays.

nutribullet® Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe

The Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe can be used to brew espresso with the pod brewing setting. The most straightforward method for brewing espresso is to select an espresso blend pod and proceed with the usual instructions. You can also fill your reusable pod with ground espresso and brew with the pod brewing cycle. We do not suggest brewing espresso with the carafe setting.

The Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe does not operate using Nespresso® Pods, or comparable pods.

To select between single cup and carafe brewing, simply open the Top Ring Lid and insert either the Pod Holder with a coffee pod, or the Brew Basket with a filter full of coffee grounds. Once you close the Top Ring Lid, the Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe will automatically detect which components are in use and will illuminate the corresponding brew types and sizes on the Control Panel. From here, select your desired brew size using the Brew Selector Dial. Then push “Start” on the dial to begin brewing.

If making a single-serve coffee pod brew, be sure to set the Removable Mug Platform on top of the heat plate before placing your mug under the coffee spout. This is not required for larger metal or glass-bottomed travel mugs. Never place a plastic-bottomed mug onto the heat plate.

If brewing a carafe, measure your grounds out with the Coffee Ground Scoop for the perfect coffee-to-water ratio, according to your taste.

The Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe brews hot coffee only. The machine features a heat plate that will keep a carafe of coffee warm for up to two hours. The heat plate is not meant for use with single-cup brewing.

If brewing a single cup of coffee with a pod, be sure to set the Removable Mug Platform on top of the heat plate before placing your mug under the coffee spout. If brewing a pod of coffee into a larger travel mug, you do not need to use the Removable Mug Platform. Never place a mug or travel mug with a plastic base onto the heat plate. The heat plate might melt the plastic, causing potential damage to the unit as well as personal injury.

The single cup pod setting lets you brew 6, 8, or 10 ounces of coffee. The carafe setting allows you to select to brew 6, 9, or 12 cups of coffee.

The Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe offers two options for making coffee: brew a single cup using a *K-Cup®-compatible pod or reusable pod, or a full coffee pot (carafe) with a coffee filter.

Paper filters are not required, as a reusable filter is provided with every Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe unit. If desired, flat-bottom paper filters can be inserted into the Brew Basket instead of the reusable filter. The machine will work with either type of filter.

Each setting of the Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe should be cleaned before initial use. Refer to the included User Guide for specific instructions on how to run each preliminary cleaning cycle.

The following detachable parts and accessories of the Brew Choice™ Pod + Carafe are dishwasher-safe: glass carafe, carafe lid, brew basket, reusable coffee filter (nylon or gold tone), coffee ground scoop, reusable pod, removable mug platform.

The unit base, water reservoir, control panel, and heat plate should be wiped clean with a dampened cloth. Avoid scrubbing these components with harsh or abrasive cleaners. Never submerge the unit in water.

To properly store this product, make sure it is completely turned off and unplugged, and that the water reservoir is empty. Store upright in a cool, dry, frost-free area.

For more detailed cleaning and care instructions, refer to the included User Guide.
